Heaven Rules! Feed The Poor!

Good to be back on blog. I really do not have much time to get online as much as I used to except checking email. I have been studying A Plus and need to pass before end of the year. Please be patient with me. I really want to keep you men motivated for Christ.

I recently had a confrontation with good friend over a silly issue and now this person completely wants to cut me off. My wife and I have been giving a lot to this friend. We helped him get on his feet, food, clothes, and many advise how he can resolve financial issues. I upset him by recent email and realize I should have not done that. But he has cut us off completely after all we have done for him. Even though he is in a poverty state, he has a lot of pride. This is really hard on a person who needs all help he can get but rejects all good things.

I opened my New King James Version bible right at Daniel chapter 4. Below the chapter the commentary on Daniel 4 hits right in the heart. Talks about Heaven Rules! Feed the Poor! Last month I donated $ help keep Christian Radio alive. And just so happen last week WTGS setup Helping people for Christmas and one person sent in story of Deaf family and how they are suffering loss of their oldest hearing son and both parents jobless. So I go tin touch with them and I will be hearing from them how to contact family. It feels good to provide needs of others for Sake of Christ. I let you all read below and pray about this.

Heaven Rules! Feed The Poor!

There is direct correlation between the spiritual health of societies and their treatment of the poor. Those that honor God show mercy to the weak and disadvantaged. Those that depart from godly ways abuse and manipulate the poor. An example of this principle can be seen in ancient Babylon.

The Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar had much of which to be proud. He won almost every military battle that he ever fought. His empire spanned the Middle East. He extensively rebuilt the capital city of Babylon. He had unimaginable wealth and power. For these reasons, his heart was lifted up in pride – so much so that he apparently forgot basic truth; “Heaven rules”
(Dan 4:26).

God Warned Nebuchadnezzar through his dreams that judgment was coming (4:1-26), and his advisor Daniel took the risk of challenging his boss to change his ways before it was too late. It is interesting to observe Daniel’s advice: “Break off your sins by being righteous and your iniquities by showing mercy to the poor” (Dan 4:27). The parallelism of Daniel’s statement suggests that righteousness for Nebuchadnezzar equated with showing mercy to the poor.

The King apparently disregarded Daniel’s advice. He persisted in his pride and arrogance, ignoring God. As a result, the Lord took away his position and power (4:33) until he turned to the Lord and admitted that heaven rules (4:34-35). He then instituted a reign based on truth, justice, and humility (4:36-37).

Nebuchadnezzar’s experience challenges u s to ask: What values drive you? What rules your life? An easy way to answer these questions is to reflect on your attitude toward the poor. Are you committed to seeing that they benefit from truth and justice? How might you demonstrate that commitment in your job and community?

Lord,

Thank you for showing me this story. I hope and pray that throughout the world, people shift focus, instead of receiving to more giving. Amen

Muscle Fitness or Spiritual Fitness?

Deaf Band of Brothers,

Guess what! I just received the Muscle Fitness magazine for the first time. And long and behold, I read an article covered on 3 deaf brothers who are triplets. They graduated from Gallaudet and are from Illinois School for the Deaf where my wife went there. She knows them. Interesting they have had some good muscle toning but gained weight over years. All 3 have jobs but they excercised\workout together now and then. They submitted request to MF to get a personal trainer to improve their muscle and weight. Sure enough they were assigned a trainer and 3 of the brothers with no distraction worked out well. They were on 12 week strict diet and workout and man wow what a difference. MF showed before and after picture. Their body tone and muscles all over look great. I wouldn't mind doing the 12 week program.

Why did I bother bring this up and how does it apply to us? We this title strikes an idea of how I can convert this to have a better focus for us Men. Instead of Muscle Fitness, we need Spiritual Fitness. In other words we need Spiritual Therapy. I propose we have meeting and discuss what we all men can do for the remainder of the year before we have our 2nd Annual Men Retreat Sept 2007.

My idea is this: we get partnership planned out, and receive 4 lessons a month. First week we will work with the first lesson, the men partnership with each other. They communicate either via email, AIM, VP, or meet in person and discuss lesson and create their journal. Each week they do this "Self Discovery" and discuss with their partner. Then after the 4 weeks is complete, then get a new partner and receive 4 new lessons. This can keep us on our toes by next year. Keep all your journals and during the Men Retreat we can summarize of what this Spiritual Therapy has done to your relationship. This Spiritual Therapy should improve relationship with Jesus Christ, your Brothers and Sisters in Christ, as well as other people around you for evangelism approach. This is a good start.

Read today's reading by Toser below. Have a great day. Will keep you all updated when we will meet for the Spiritual Fitness activity.

Failure and Success: True Greatness

Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave. --Matthew 20:26-27

The essence of His teaching is that true greatness lies in character, not in ability or position. Men in their blindness had always thought that superior talents made a man great, and so the vast majority believe today. To be endowed with unusual abilities in the field of art or literature or music or statecraft, for instance, is thought to be in itself an evidence of greatness, and the man thus endowed is hailed as a great man. Christ taught, and by His life demonstrated, that greatness lies deeper....

While a few philosophers and religionists of pre-Christian times had seen the fallacy in man's idea of greatness and had exposed it, it was Christ who located true greatness and showed how it could be attained. 'Whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; and whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant.' It is that simple and that easy--and that difficult. Born After Midnight, 50.

"Lord, this truth is indeed contrary to the philosophy of the world-which the church has unfortunately bought into. Stimulate my heart this morning to desire this true greatness-for Your glory. Amen."

The Fire Falls

What happens to the person who keep feeding the fire on and on and on and on, but get nothing back? Lesson Mark Lowenstein talked about "Breaking Point" is so true.

Sory with Elijah was he challenge Idol worshipers to pray to their god and set fire to Altar. Nothing happened. Then Elijah requested the altar be soaked with water. The God sent fire to the altar and burned. Only wish that the same fire that was put into you and then you will put in others. This weekend will be 2 weeks since the retreat. I am not going to let fire be drenched with water and die out.

Have you heard what this Cliche means: "Burning a candle on both ends?" This applies to the leadership of the Deaf ministries through out the world. We are not alone. Lets get the fire going and let others imitate us. We imitate Aplostle Paul then let those who see how we are rejuviated and contine to be pumped up for the Lord.

Read the today Litmin. I really like this. I was thinking about this blog today and read this verse by litmin and it was what I really needed.

September 28 Revival:

The Fire Falls And to the angel of the church in Sardis write, "These things says He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: 'I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead.'" --Revelation 3:1-2

For a long time I have believed that truth, to be understood, must be lived; that Bible doctrine is wholly ineffective until it has been digested and assimilated by the total life.... We must be willing to obey if we would know the true inner meaning of the teachings of Christ and the apostles. I believe this view prevailed in every revival that ever came to the church during her long history. Indeed a revived church may be distinguished from a dead one by the attitude of its members toward the truth. The dead church holds to the shell of truth without surrendering the will to it, while the church that wills to do God's will is immediately blessed with a visitation of spiritual powers.

Theological facts are like the altar of Elijah on Carmel before the fire came, correct, properly laid out, but altogether cold. When the heart makes the ultimate surrender, the fire falls and true facts are transmuted into spiritual truth that transforms, enlightens, sanctifies. The church or the individual that is Bible taught without being Spirit taught (and there are many of them) has simply failed to see that truth lies deeper than the theological statement of it. That Incredible Christian, 92-94.

"Lord, send the fire today. Amen."

We must be the Body

1 Peter 3:10:10
For, "Whoever would love life
and see good days
must keep his tongue from evil
and his lips from deceitful speech.

1 John 3:18:18 Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.

It has been while since I have posted a blog. Today I have been thinking about how we know the Truth and one part of the truth is how we react daily. Especially Christians. We should walk, talk, and act like Jesus. But there are times we may slip back. Since the DBOB, the men are now motivated! But is this a short joy or long lasting Godly JOY like one of the 9 fruits? I hope so. I have some revelation\epiphany what I can do to keep us all Hot and on Fire for the Lord.

The verse of the day as I mention talks about how we ought to watch what we say. The thing is, after we have drifted for time, we may go back to this comfortably soft zone where we were once were last week before the retreat. Devil is rooting for this. During this Retreat, this below song truly helps me to keep singing for the Lord and even when day gets busy as it was for me today, we can forget. Everywhere around us there are Christians and Non-Christians fill their mouths and hands with in-appropriate words. Times are tough men, they can expose us easily. We forget what we look like when we see ourselves in mirror? James reminds us: James 1:23:23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror

I hope you all can print this song and post it in your car, at work, at home. Keep singing and meditate. Don’t worry, Lord has plan for us men. Holy Spirit is compelling me to compose of something to keep us motivated.

Lord,

Keep us on fire. If it has to take a servant like me to “Fan the Flame” so be it. I believe you are speaking to us based upon this verse: 2 Timothy 1:6:6For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.

If We Are The Body - Casting Crowns - Album: Casting Crowns lyrics
(Wow good song so true ~Darrin)

It's crowded in worship today
As she slips in trying to fade into the faces
The girls teasing laughter is carrying farther than they know
Farther than they know

But if we are the body
Why aren't His arms reaching?
Why aren't His hands healing?
Why aren't His words teaching?

And if we are the body
Why aren't His feet going?
Why is His love not showing them there is a way?
There is a way

A traveler is far away from home
He sheds his coat and quietly sinks into the back row
The weight of their judgmental glances
Tells him that his chances are better out on the road

But if we are the body
Why aren't His arms reaching?
Why aren't His hands healing?
Why aren't His words teaching?

And if we are the body
Why aren't His feet going?
Why is His love not showing them there is a way?
There is a way

Jesus paid much too high a price
For us to pick and choose who should come
And we are the body of Christ

But if we are the body
Why aren't His arms reaching?
Why aren't His hands healing?
Why aren't His words teaching?
And if we are the body
Why aren't His feet going?

Why is His love not showing them there is a way?
There is a way Jesus is the way

D.B.O.B. - Washing of the Feet

John 13

Jesus Washes His Disciples' Feet

1It was just before the Passover Feast. Jesus knew that the time had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he now showed them the full extent of his love.

2The evening meal was being served, and the devil had already prompted Judas Iscariot, son of Simon, to betray Jesus. 3Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God; 4so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. 5After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples' feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.

6He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, "Lord, are you going to wash my feet?"

7Jesus replied, "You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand."

8"No," said Peter, "you shall never wash my feet."
Jesus answered, "Unless I wash you, you have no part with me."

9"Then, Lord," Simon Peter replied, "not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!"

10Jesus answered, "A person who has had a bath needs only to wash his feet; his whole body is clean. And you are clean, though not every one of you." 11For he knew who was going to betray him, and that was why he said not every one was clean.

12When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. "Do you understand what I have done for you?" he asked them. 13"You call me 'Teacher' and 'Lord,' and rightly so, for that is what I am. 14Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another's feet. 15I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. 16I tell you the truth, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. 17Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

This men's retreat is the foremost inspirational, emotional, spiritual, well worked, and well planned retreat I have ever been to. Bloggers, God really was behind this retreat all the way. Chair person and coordinator didn’t really show they worked that hard, just let it flow. The guest speaker Mike Helms planned the lesson, icebreaker, games, and activity very effectively. Holy Spirit really drove us all together. I know few of those who attended had doctrinal issues but Satan truly was blown away. It did not appear or even existed in the retreat. Everyone really changed.

It is hard recall every lesson during the past weekend but what verse really strikes me was one talks about loving Jesus more than your brother. Which mean any Christians or non Christians we treat each other more than a brother? Hug each other hard! Anyone I see for now on that’s the feeling and attitude I will continue to have. This is spark everyone needs.

Also I am truly amazed how after the retreat my tires on the family van had a slow leak. Refilling was tiresome. Mike Helms jumped to plate went extra mile and changed tires for me without me asking. That shows that the Foot Washing of Jesus is alive and going. Band of Brothers had an effect on everyone.

Lord,

I'm awe and amazed but unable to find right words. This last weekend everyone who went truly changed. For past month half, prayers worked. We all worked together very well. You truly are beautiful beyond description. We all really lowered ourselves to each other. Lord keeps us together a strong bond. Deaf band of brothers, Bracelet we have says LiveSTRONG. Your majesty Amen

Sin bites

30 Those who linger over wine,
who go to sample bowls of mixed wine.

31 Do not gaze at wine when it is red,
when it sparkles in the cup,
when it goes down smoothly!

32 In the end it bites like a snake
and poisons like a viper.

33 Your eyes will see strange sights
and your mind imagine confusing things.

34 You will be like one sleeping on the high seas,
lying on top of the rigging.

35 "They hit me," you will say, "but I'm not hurt!
They beat me, but I don't feel it!
When will I wake up
so I can find another drink?"

Proverbs 23:30-35 (NIV)

Had a good study last night. You know studying bible, going bible class, and worship truly is important. Many things were sparking in my mind. Studying Genesis 1-3 gave me recollection of many verses. Do you realize that God designed Sin? Nope! God made all things and called it Good. But did he make sin and call it good? That was discussion last night. Also God made light\dark to rule night and day. This means we are under time and God is not (2 Peter 3:8). But God did make us into His image. We have freedom of choice. It is interesting that when he made Adam and Eve, in their characteristic they are capable of sin but did not need to sin at the time before tree of life was planted. Below is what I extracted from commentaries of the New King James Version.

“Human beings are distinctive creation. We are unlike all other creatures because we were created in the image of God (Gen 1:26-30; 5:1; 9:6. Eph 4:24; Col 3:10). Scriptures never describes any other creatures or bearing God’s image.”

Other commentary on Sin a Choice?. What is it in human – a nature which God created – that makes us temptable, or vulnerable to sin? Adam and Eve were created apart from sin, and with out the need to sin, yet some characteristic in their makeup allow sin enter their lives (Gen 3:6-7).” The characteristic is self-deception and self will for example 2-sided coin. We can learn from this. Allowing sin to continue to take root and bear its deadly fruit within us – until Christ enter our lives will break the bond of sin., empower us to resist it. Romans 3:23 wages of sin is death and Romans 6:23 all fall short of glory for God. But as Christians we can see that 1 Peter 5:9 says resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered for a while, perfect, establish, strength, and settle you. To Him be the glory and the dominion for ever and ever Amen.

So after what I have discussed we have this weakness God has designed to allow us to experience this temptation and look to Jesus for help. This will continue until we are taken into Heaven.

Lord,
You are so wise designing this weakness so that sin enters us and teach us to resist and depend on You. We know for fact You are so Pure and free from this Time we are under and this temptation all around us. Give us all strength and openness so we all can share with each other. This weekend Lord, empower us with Holy Spirit and make us Strong for your Glory. In Power, Jesus, Name of all Names, Amen

September 14 A Growing Hunger After God

As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. --Psalm 42:1-2a

In this hour of all-but-universal darkness one cheering gleam appears: within the fold of conservative Christianity there are to be found increasing numbers of persons whose religious lives are marked by a growing hunger after God Himself. They are eager for spiritual realities and will not be put off with words, nor will they be content with correct "interpretations" of truth. They are athirst for God, and they will not be satisfied till they have drunk deep at the Fountain of Living Water. This is the only real harbinger of revival which I have been able to detect anywhere on the religious horizon. It may be the cloud the size of a man's hand for which a few saints here and there have been looking. It can result in a resurrection of life for many souls and a recapture of that radiant wonder which should accompany faith in Christ, that wonder which has all but fled the Church of God in our day. The Pursuit of God, 7.

"O Father, may their numbers increase more and more--those who 'are athirst for God, and [who] will not be satisfied till they have drunk deep at the Fountain of Living Water.' Amen."

Lesson of the week

Sermon of the week by Mark. Please print out his blog and take time to read and meditate on it. This is good lesson for us before this weekend.

Nose-Bleed Seats

Ephesians 5:11-16 (Message):
11 -16Don't waste your time on useless work, mere busywork, the barren pursuits of darkness. Expose these things for the sham they are. It's a scandal when people waste their lives on things they must do in the darkness where no one will see. Rip the cover off those frauds and see how attractive they look in the light of Christ.

Why this title? This slogan identifies for people who wanna take risk getting tickets for front row seats at basketball game. This is a risk because the men who are rough on courts may eventually fall on you or the basketball loses control and hits you in face.

Here is a story you all probably already heard. It’s pretty sad. Crocodile Hunter, He was killed recently. He is one of the foremost risk takers. He has gotten hurt many times. He was risking his life for what? For ratings, popularity, and money? He left behind wife and kids. He did not plan this camera shooting very well. He risked himself with wild animal definitely. He had this adrenaline in him. He tends to be very high strong, which could have spooked this Sting Ray. But ask yourself; do you have passion, desire, and risk taker, blood nose seat taker like this man? I believe we all have some instances in our life when we risk our life. For example, you get inside your car and turn the key and then hit the road; this is risk taking. Risking your life on road and its unpredictable what can happen. There are many people risking their decision and cause accidents and possibility lose a life of their own or someone else. Tell you man, it’s a crazy world we live in now more than ever. But we have to do it anyway to get to places. We don't know what tomorrow will bring but we have goal.

Topic applies to us Christians. Jesus did not waste his time and go out of his way for his sermons, parables, and examples for nothing. Neither did Paul. Man he is a crazy fanatic, God Lovin’ apostle, adrenaline pumping, and risk taker kind of guy. He gave examples of this risk taking adventure for the Glory for God.

I know for last 30 some blogs I have written, I am risking my job but I don’t need go into details how, but I am making every opportunity of my time (Eph 5:16). I know for fact if I wait till tonight, it will not happen, if tomorrow night won't happen then this blog will not be here. You all don’t have motivation go to men retreat? It’s a chain reaction men. This DBOB is a nosebleed reality for us. Risk taking to spread the gospel. 2 Timothy 1:8: So do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord, or ashamed of me his prisoner. But join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God, Also Romans 1:16:I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.

I do not have to explain too deeply but the sound of the slogan is good fire starter to our conscious mind - wake up call. We all are risk takers everyday anyway. So what is keeping you from responding to this blog for example? What is preventing you to jump into new ministries and be creative how you can serve the Lord?

This weekend you men will experience God's Nose-Bleed Seats, but wait, don’t be afraid, this is not physical sense but Spiritual revival. One brother mentioned that he was hesitant because he thought we might include hazing. But I mention to him, are you thinking physically or spiritually? So he thought about that. I encourage him think positive, this is to encourage us men to be energized for the Lord. Prepare us for this Spiritual Revival.

After writing this blog, I was very pumped up. I am pumped up for the Lord. I hope this goes on for life daily. We ought to take 15 min in morning and pick verse meditate on this, write journal, express yourself, this is how we get energized. I went to work out (exercise), whoa. If I did not do this blog, tell you truth, I would not be working out at all. I am mellow kind of guy. Down to earth but a motivator. What ever comes my way I am now risk taker for the Lord.

Lord,

Thank you for this kick-start title. Lord I pray for those men analyzing their life every morning, reading your words, and applying it through out the day. This is for your Glory. Lead us to the front line "nose bleed seats", and fight the spiritual battle, which is SATAN. Your mighty Son's Name, Amen.

September 13 Revival:

Give My Thyself O God, You are my God; early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for You; my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. --Psalm 63:1

And here's a little prayer that was made by Lady Julian: "O God, of Thy goodness give me Thyself, for Thou art enough for me, and I may ask nothing that is less and find any full honors to Thee. God give me Thyself!" We make out that a revival is everybody running around falling on everybody else's neck and saying "Forgive me for thinking a bad thought about you. Forgive me for that nickel that I forgot to pay back." Or we say a revival consists of people getting very loud and noisy. Well, that might happen in a revival, but the only kind of revival that would be here when the worlds are on fire is the revival that begins by saying, "Oh God, give me Thyself! For nothing less than Thee will do." "Anything less than God," Julian said, "ever me wanteth." I like that little expression. Translated into modern English it means, "It won't be enough." The Attributes of God, 32.

"Oh God, of Thy goodness give me Thyself.... Amen."

Are We The Good Shepard?

From Beliefnet: http://www.beliefnet.com/dailybible/119906.htm

I Am the Good Shepherd'
Seems that God is looking more for ways to get us home than for ways to keep us out. I challenge you to find one soul who came to God seeking grace and did not find it.

Max Lucado, "When God Whispers Your Name"

John 10:1-18

The Shepherd and His Flock

1"I tell you the truth, the man who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber. 2The man who enters by the gate is the shepherd of his sheep. 3The watchman opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. 5But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger's voice." 6Jesus used this figure of speech, but they did not understand what he was telling them.
7Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. 8All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved.[
a] He will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
11"I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. 12The hired hand is not the shepherd who owns the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. 13The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.
14"I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— 15just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd. 17The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life—only to take it up again. 18No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father."

Forfiet your life for the Greatest Gift

NLT

Matthew 10:39
If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give it up for me, you will find it.

Matthew 16:25
If you try to keep your life for yourself, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for me, you will find true life.

Mark 8:35
If you try to keep your life for yourself, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News, you will find true life.

Luke 9:24
If you try to keep your life for yourself, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for me, you will find true life.

I love Pepsi, I hate water.
I love Steak & Cheese Sandwich, I hate plain salads.
I love Chocolates, I hate raw vegetables.
I love reading SMS\e-mails\IM, I hate reading books.
I love computer, I hate repairing them.
I love watching movies, I hate working out (exercising)

Some of these used to be true but I am changing. I see this concept what is good what is bad for me. Reading the verses above, I see how I ought test my life. I have done more reading on popular Christian living books that I have done in my whole life, but sadly, more than the bible. But lately, I have been struggling reading bible more, studying, and praying. Fasting\meditating last Tuesday gave me realization that I need deny myself! Verse below explains exactly that:

Luke 9:23-27
23Then he said to them all: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. 24For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it. 25What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit his very self? 26If anyone is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels. 27I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God."

I am struggling between self-wants and needs. If you all have something to share related to this, Jump in guys.

Lord,

Again, Again I say Praise you Lord for showing us the way. This verse shows that we are in flesh and we separate ourselves if we want to follow you, deny self-daily. That is the key. I love You Lord and I want to follow You all days of my life. Guide me as well as others who are with me. Your Great Name, Amen.

Here is another one of Lee Strobel's Testimony I got from his book "Inside The Mind of Un-churched Harry and Mary". This is time before his conversion. I hope this testimony will stick to you all, as it will with me.

So, after I had put the last piece of my mental jigsaw puzzle into place, I figuratively stepped back to see the picture I had been seen systematically piecing together in my mind for almost two years.

It was a portrait of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.Like former skeptic Thomas, I responded by declaring: "My Lord and my God!"

Afterward, I waked into the kitchen, where Leslie (Lee’s wife) was standing next to Alison in front of the sink. Our daughter was five years old at the time, and by standing on her toes and stretching, she was barely able to reach the kitchen faucet for the first time.

"Look Daddy, look!" she exclaimed. "I can touch it! I can touch it!"

"Honey. That’s great, "You know, that's exactly how I feel. I've been reaching for someone for a long time, and today I was finally able to touch Him" she knew what I was saying. With tears in our eyes, we embraced.

As it turned out, Leslie and her friends had been praying for me almost daily through out my spiritual journey. Often, Leslie's prayers had focus on this verse from Old Testament:
And I will give you a new heart with new and right desires, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony heart of sin and give you a new, obedient heart. Ez 36:26
Thank God, He has been faithful to that promise.

Lord,

Thank you for showing me these verses; You will withhold your promise when we seek you within all our heart. Amen

Social IQ

1 Corinthians 14:12:12So it is with you. Since you are eager to have spiritual gifts, try to excel in gifts that build up the church.

How are your social skills?

Interesting research this person did in the Washington Parade magazine. Guy did research how we can compete with people with high-IQ? Or how we can obtain higher IQ? But the result that the IQ level is wired in our brain. The best way to reach above the traditional IQ is social behavior. Here is what Daniel Goleman mentioned: “Scientists say “People Smarts” are wired in our brain”. Daniel also stated “the ability to get along with colleagues could take you further in life than traditional IQ”.

I can look at this and translate to how God wants to use our body and sharpen our social skills. I really believe we as family of God can establish a ministry to practice these social skills. I guarantee, this will improve our contact with visitors’ inside\outside the church for Glory for God. Deaf ministry depends on us including deaf\hearing members.

Lord,

Give us the guidance how to sharpen our social skills for your glory. Jesus' Name Amen.

Colorful Christian

Romans 8:5 5Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.

I read the Spiritual Guide book today and this paragraph caught my eye what I was thinking about today ironic.

“Now Scriptures tells us that the natural man does not understand the things which spiritual significance. If you should criticize – or even condemn – though you do not understand it, you have joined yourself to the world’s men of wisdom.

Understanding the deep things of the Lord does not come first from a good intellect, nor logic, nor reasoning; it comes through experience. The deep things of God are not invented things, nor are the teaching be proven, but rather only to be received This is why such matters are so fruitful in a believer’s life. The deep things of the Lord do not come to soul through your ear hearing nor your eye reading books, but by something Holy Spirit puts you abundantly. The Holy Spirit’s fruits He communicates to those who are humble in their mind and lowly in use of their reasoning powers!” (Michael Melinos – Rome 1675)

Men,

For the last 3 weeks I have been inputting this blog, and re-read all of them. I am in Awe of God. I look back to my life; I realize I am unschooled just as Apostles that Jesus chose. I didn’t go to college, but did graduate from High School. I live in 2 worlds. I thank the Lord for teaching me both worlds and bring them together. But there are things that I start questioning on our intelligence side of us. Each of us at FXCC has different backgrounds, education, politics, and cultures. When it comes to committing ourselves to Christ, we ought to toss all we had learned or experienced since we are a New Creation. Renew thoughts of the Father. I firmly believe we should practice detoxifying ourselves now and then. We just did this Fasting and praying just for sake of unanswered prayers and praises, but really we should use that time to detoxify for what we have polluted ourselves with.

Pollute? I am guilty of listening to wonderful comments made by many Christians, and reading popular Christian books. But there are times when I really read the bible, listen to scriptures, I realized I have fallen to Men’s teaching (Prov 14:12). Though I felt my tongue has been cut or I hit a brick wall big time, I have been mislead? Reason I say this; there are times when people who have been Christians for while, and may have an argument, rebel, or criticize biblical teaching at FXCC or at any non-denominations. But heads up men, what was taught and what will be taught is from The Bible. God willing with guidance of Holy Spirit leading the Elders, Ministers, and Ministry leaders at FXCC. I do have some issues that are taught in Church of Christ in general, but wait a minute! Church don’t teach their doctrine?. Hey, its found in the bible, Dohhhh (Homer Simpson reaction). But of course those wonderful men who desprately seeking God’s words will teach what is said in bible. But there are references and commentates that lead us to teach what people may or may not agree with. We all do our best to receive the message as IS and try to apply to what we see today. We take it and use it to spread the word about Christ.

Hey we don’t have to toss out everything we had before becoming a Christian, we use them as a tool. For example Apostle Paul used his experience at the Synagogues and preach to Pharisees. Thankfully, God has placed each person different path, so they can still translate word of God and Utilize their education, background, politics, and culture for opportunity to spread the Word of God to people around us. This is what Father want best for His children to do His will. This is what’s wonderful about the flavor of people’s experience in their life’s testimony. All we have to do is apply these to unbelievers and bring them to Christ and those who are confused to stand firm in their faith.

Lord,

Wow, I am so grateful for you to give us opportunity to fall Man’s way, then in turn humble accept your way, then now we can reach to the world and share the Good news to them. Then only by your Grace You can pierce their hearts. Give the unbelievers your undivided attention. Utilize us. Your great Name Amen!

“Something happened on the way to Heaven” (Phil Collins)

2 Corinthians 5:1-5
Our Heavenly Dwelling
1Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. 2Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, 3because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. 4For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. 5Now it is God who has made us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
6Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. 7We live by faith, not by sight. 8We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. 9So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it. 10For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.

This verse is talking about how we ought to live as Christian either inside\outside our home, home meaning the Church and FXCC. This song sang by Phil Collins called “Something happened on the way to Heaven” is a good theme for today. We are so distracted in our day-to-day life. Plus with popular Christian books, tracts, and application we have read outside the bible, we have doubts and misguided purposes on the path towards Heaven. After Fasting and praying as I hope you all have been, should renew your purpose for Christ. James 1:6 But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.

There is a time to be active for the Lord, and a time to kneel and pray. I pray that everyone that prayed last night and today for our deaf ministry. We are Christians – Called Out. So we have committed our lives to Christ. For this new body we have we to live for Christ (Gal 2:20).

We know that world offers nothing but roadblocks for our path to Heaven. We know nothing in this world will last forever. We know what last forever? The bible – God’s words, our Salvation we ought hold true, and Trinity. Are we following Man (Prov 14:12) or are we listening to the Holy Spirit that guides us (Rom 8:26)? We are fighting against not just the flesh (when fasting) but against the Evil Spiritual world. This is so clear that Devil who rules this Evil Kingdom wants to off set the path God has placed for each of us. Devil failed to cut off the seed line of Jesus. And we Must believe Devil will not win to off set our Firm belief that we all will be saved period!

Everyday is a new Goal:
Corinthians 3:18:And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect[a] the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

So what does that mean for us? All of us need to help our brothers\sisters that are struggling, Christian life that is still at a stand still, or need guidance. Also we all have to admit our weakness and expose them time-to-time to the members and give us confidence to overcome them plus other Christians that are struggling can learn from the testimonies (1 Peter 5:6-7). We should not allow this Devil to make us Introverts. Christ is an extrovert as well as his Disciples. Men, lets open our discussion everyday on anything you have issues with. We all work together of course with the help of Holy Spirit. Also including In-Person assistance by Mark, David, Steve, Matt, Dennis, Tim, Neil, as well as I. Names I have not mentioned please respond. We all would like to hear from you. This is whole part of “Sharpening the Iron” (Iron = Christian people) (Prov 27:17).

Lord,

As we all prayed and fast since last night and continuing through out the day, give us all new goal and guidance how we can rejuvenate us Christian to increase your Glory. This means by creating new ministries to get us Christians active in the Deaf\Hearing community. I know there are so much work to be done with little time left as our life has a limitation. There are few workers but plenty of bare-bone (know nothing about bible) and un-churched people. Lord, you are in control. We humbly thank thee for giving us the opportunity to live on earth and life the life you want us to live. Keep us strong on the way to Heaven, in Christ’s name AMEN!

Should us Christians Fast?

“watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak”. Matthew 26:41

I am extracting this below article from http://www.bible.ca/ on fasting. Tonight starting at 6pm lasting til tomorrow at 6pm we will be fasting. Purpose is to bring us closer to God. This is time when we all should participate. To better understand the fasting read below. If you have any feedback please do respond. Thanks ><> Jesus’ Spark ~Darrin

Fasting, or abstaining from food for spiritual purposes, is a practice often misunderstood by Christians. Since it is natural in times of great grief to lose the appetite, some have concluded that this is the fasting Jesus expected of his disciples after his departure. (Matthew 6:6-18; Matthew 9:14; Mark 2: 18-20 and Luke 5:35).

Some religious groups have set aside seasons and days when their followers are expected to refrain from eating or are to refuse to eat certain foods. Perhaps these practices have added to the confusion of Christians thinking on the subject of fasting.

History indicates that man in all ages and among all nations has engaged in fasting. It has been used for many purposes including ceremonials, mourning, or as an aid to building self-control and as a method for gaining spiritual strength. The late Mahatma Gandi gained world attention through his extensive fasting. It has been used by both groups and individuals and is widely practiced today. Many groups have found "hunger strikes" more powerful than violence in obtaining their purposes. Recently a group of teenagers did without food for 24 hours in order to gain understanding of the hungry populations of the world, The money they saved on their food was then sent to rescue missions in India. Many Christians today have experienced the blessings that can come only to one who has dedicated a season to fasting and prayer to Jehovah.

Biblical examples of fasting indicate that it was only once commanded as a regular ritual, on the day of Atonement (Lev. 23:27) but it was practiced by God's people both individually and in groups. Sometimes it was commanded by leaders, sometimes it was voluntary. God's people fasted for many purposes; David, to humble his soul, to entreat God in behalf of his sick son, for his enemies and in mourning for the death of Saul and his sons. In times of great crisis, the children of God usually turned to their Father, confessing their sins, praying and fasting, entreating his favor; and the Scriptures indicate that God usually blessed them. In one case, that of the Nenevites, he even repented and changed his plans for destroying them.

Fasting was habitual for John's disciples (Matthew 9:14), for Anna (Luke 2:36-37) the Pharisees (Matthew 9:14), Cornelius (Acts 10:30) and for Paul (II Corinthians 6:5, 11:27). Jesus fasted for forty days and nights and told the disciples of John that his disciples would fast when the bridegroom was taken from them. (Matthew 9:15). Apparently, fasting alone does not move God, for in Isaiah 58:3-9 the people asked "Why have we fasted, and thou seest it not?", and the answer is given: "Behold you fast only to quarrel and to fight and to hit with wicked fist. Fasting like yours this day will not make your voice to be heard on high." Again in Jeremiah 14:12, the Lord said: "though they fast, I will not hear their cry". Here the Lord's people had turned to wickedness and the prophet was asked to refrain even from praying for them. In Zechariah 7:5, their fasting was lost because of wickedness. Thus, fasting is not a substitute for righteousness.

Fasting, like any other act of devotion can be empty and for show only, hence the Pharisee of Luke 18:12 who fasted twice a week was not justified. Jesus condemns as hypocrites those who wear a sad countenance that they may appear to men to fast (Matthew 6:16).

It is easy to understand why fasting is not popular today. With so much emphasis on pleasure and selfindulgence as constituting the good life, any appeal to self-denial is unpopular. Eating has been regarded as one of the nations greatest problems, especially eating for enjoyment. This very condition actually enhances the value of fasting for a person with this attitude if he could be persuaded to try it.

The physical aspect of fasting is beyond the scope of this lesson. Health and body condition is such a highly individualized matter, that its results cannot be generalized. There are few, if any, however, who could not leave off a meal now and then to the benefit of their physical well-being.

Fasting, like prayer, may bring blessings to the participant apart from the special blessings bestowed by the Heavenly Father. For the person who would gain in self-control it is excellent practice. It may contribute to weight control and economy of time and food cost, but like prayer, Jesus taught that its greatest benefit would come from the special blessings of God.

Perhaps our strongest New Testament teaching on the subject is from the Sermon on the mount when Jesus was teaching that we should be careful not to make a show of our religion before men. When we do an act of charity, pray, or fast, they should be done without public attention, and with each of these it is stated that, "your Father who sees what is done in secret will regard you" Matthew 6:1-8). Doesn't it seem likely that he expected his followers to fast since he gave them instructions for the proper way to conduct it?

Christians today would do well to consider fasting as a means of drawing closer to God, or gaining spiritual strength. It is not a command, it is a privileges In times of great stress it is a way of communicating with the Lord, and if it is sincere and dedicated to God, it will be regarded by him. (Matthew 6:18).

Lord,
As some or most of us going to try to fast starting tonight, open our hearts as we humble kneel before you as attempt to draw us closer to you. Amen

Revival: The Arrow of Infinite Desire

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. -Matthew 5:6

These words are addressed to those of God's children who have been pierced with the arrow of infinite desire, who yearn for God with a yearning that has overcome them, who long with a longing that has become pain.

"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled."...

A dead body feels no hunger and the dead soul knows not the pangs of holy desire. "If you want God," said the old saint, "you have already found Him." Our desire for fuller life is proof that some life must be there already....

In nature everything moves in the direction of its hungers. In the spiritual world it is not otherwise. We gravitate toward our inward longing, provided of course that those longings are strong enough to move us. Impotent dreaming will not do. The religious urge that is not followed by a corresponding act of the will in the direction of that urge is a waste of emotion. The Size of the Soul, 17-18.

"Oh, God, I have that longing to know You, that hunger and thirst for righteousness, that 'desire for fuller life.' Move me along in the direction of that hunger, Lord, and give me the strength to follow 'in the direction of that urge.' Amen."

Revival: Born After Midnight

So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. -Luke 11:9-10

Among revival-minded Christians I have heard the saying, "Revivals are born after midnight."This is one of those proverbs which, while not quite literally true, yet points to something very true.If we understand the saying to mean that God does not hear our prayer for revival made in the daytime, it is of course not true. If we take it to mean that prayer offered when we are tired and worn-out has greater power than prayer made when we are rested and fresh, again it is not true....Yet there is considerable truth in the idea that revivals are born after midnight, for revivals (or any other spiritual gifts and graces) come only to those who want them badly enough....No, there is no merit in late hour prayers, but it requires a serious mind and a determined heart to pray past the ordinary into the unusual. Most Christians never do. And it is more than possible that the rare soul who presses on into the unusual experience reaches there after midnight. Born After Midnight, 7-8,10.

"Lord, give me this kind of longing after revival. Give me 'a serious mind and a determined heart' to pray into the unusual. Help me to give myself this month to this serious prayer for revival. Amen."

Sermon Stollen?

2 Timothy 3:16-17
16All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

There was an email sent to me few years ago I thought was funny but true. One guy sent email to minister and complaint to him that his last sermon he claimed it was stolen. And wanted meet with preacher. Preacher then met with him, and discussed the issue. And he said here it is in the bible where I found it. Preacher laughed, said you did your homework. That is what we are supposed to do. Especially our life should reflect the bible. People should see bible through us with our examples, words, and our life.

Lord,
Give us diligence seeking Your word daily in the bible. Guide us with Holy Spirit while we read these scriptures. As the bible states in 2 Tim 3:16, the bible are Your words. We shall be humble and give you undivided attention. Amen.

How People Develop Spiritual Growth Habits

Proverbs 4 (A Father's Wise Instruction)

http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=prov%204&version=47

I reccommend print out Mark's blog and read. This is very impotant for our spiritual growth.

http://marklowenstein.blogspot.com/2006/08/how-people-develop-spiritual-growth.html#comments

Reflect Jesus

1 Timothy 4:15-16
15Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. 16Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.

WWJD = What Would Jesus Do

On flip side

DJWW = Devil Just Won’t Win

For Christians, young or old, we keep analyzing how we talk, act, walk like Jesus. Why do we need to do this? Because there are people either in\outside Church who are either new Christians, un-churched people, and spiritual seekers that are watching us. When a Christian stumbles, this person who is watching will be confused. He\She would say “hey, I thought you were a Christian?” something like that. This poem below that I got from Lee Strobel’s “God’s Outrageous Claims” book is very heartening. This person who wrote this poem, was seeking God at the time. But she was confused by actions of so-called Christians around her.

I don’t understand the caring I’ve received. I don’t understand that the leaders don’t seem afraid of questions. They don’t say things like “You just have to have faith” or “You need pray more”. They don’t seem to be afraid to tell who they are. They seem genuine.

(Lee) This Young woman ended her letter with beautiful poem she had written. It contains the heart felt sentiments of a spiritual seeker toward those of us who are Christians. Read these words carefully, and as you do, imagining that this precious person is speaking directly to you. Because she is.

Do you know
do you understand
That you represent
Jesus to me?

Do you know
do you understand
that when you treat me with gentleness,
It raises the question in my mind
that maybe He is gentle, too.
Maybe He isn’t someone
who laughs when I am hurt.

Do you know
do you understand
that when you listen to my questions
and you don’t laugh,
I think, “What if Jesus is interested in me, too?”

Do you know
do you understand
that when I hear you talk about arguments
and conflict and scars from your past,
I think, “Maybe I am just a regular person
instead of a bad, no-good little girl
Who deserves abuse.”

If you care,
I think maybe He cares—
and then there’s this flame of hope
that burns inside of me
and for a while
I am afraid to breathe
because it might go out.

Do you know
do you understand
that your words are His words?
Your face, His face
to someone like me?

Please, be who you say you are.
Please, God, don’t let this be another trick.
Please let this be real.
Please.

Do you know
do understand
that you represent Jesus to me?
(God’s Outrageous Claims – Lee Strobel, pg84-86)

Christians, we are not perfect, but as a family of God, open to each other. Always ask for feedback how to improve, or if there is anything you need to repent, change, be more like Jesus.

Lord,

Sometime we need to have a piercing application like this poem. This is a rude awakening for us. Help us to become more like Jesus. In Your precious name Amen.

The Parable of the Sower

Luke 8:1-15 & Isaiah 6:9

http://bibleresources.bible.com/passagesearchresults.php?passage1=Luke+8%3A1-15%2C+Isaiah+6%3A9&version1=31

This passage describes how when we mention word of God, Testimony, bible passage, or anything related to the Gospel is considered the seed. Depending on heart of the person, which describes the condition of the dirt\ground.

Opportunity knocks!

Last night my wife and I went to see hearing friend of mine who is hospital for blood clot in result from knee surgery. My friend had a motorcycle accident few weeks ago, and last Monday he finally had surgery on his knee. The way I look at it, his life was rescued twice. I reminded him of that. He decided not to replace his bike. He is giving up on it. I said to him Lord is giving you a clue to don’t even try again. There may not be a next time. I gave my friend book “Case of the Creator” by Lee Strobel. He likes sci-fi Christian novels. This book will answer to a lot of his question about science vs. God.

My friend was feeling down due to medication so he SMS me last night when I got home. He asked me few questions about verses and stuff I have been telling him about plus he thanked the Lord for sparing his life. Last week the medication made him very depressed and wanted to die. Then at that moment I recall I have never asked him this question. I knew he believed in God but what is his status? So I asked him question: Do you consider yourself saved\Christian. If so, when?” He said, “When I was young I accepted Christ, I may need to do it again”. So this tells me he used to be Christian.

I took time to explain several verses to some of his questions related to the bible. Then I made the opportunity right time to discuss the parable of sower. Surprisingly, he did not know this Parable. Then he asked me there should be balance good and evil. Since I know how his mind works because he plays sci-fi video games and books he reads, I took time to discuss the bible with him. I explained there are 2 choices, Obey or not to Obey. There is one path to Highway to Hell and other a rocky path to Heaven. My friend was feeling really down. So I prayed with him in the SMS. So I leave it with that.

Here is a thought for us all Men, If a person outside the church see that I talked to my friend in this way, they would think I was mean or out of line. Believe me, even though it hurts me to tell him the Truth I had to. My friend said Truth hurts. I said yep.

Lord,

Thank you for connecting me to this person who needs our prayers and support. This is greatest opportunity there is when a person hits rock bottom and his heart is clear and soft like the parable of the sower. Lord as I have planted the seed, please guide this person to way to salvation. Thank you for giving me opportunity to share with the Men of DBOB, Your Son’s sweetest Name, Amen.

Satan, bounce off our Band!

2 Corinthians 12:7-10(CEV)

7Of course, I am now referring to the wonderful things I saw. One of Satan's angels was sent to make me suffer terribly, so that I would not feel too proud. 8Three times I begged the Lord to make this suffering go away. 9But he replied, "My kindness (grace) is all you need. My power is strongest when you are weak." So if Christ keeps giving me his power, I will gladly brag about how weak I am. 10Yes, I am glad to be weak or insulted or mistreated or to have troubles and sufferings, if it is for Christ. Because when I am weak, I am strong.

Interesting to see how I was not much of daily bible or book reader or praying regularly to now an advent reader more than EVER. I’m speaking out more, praying more, very involved, motivating others, and a loud extrovert! As leader in ministry, I do not see myself a person with an Office, Label, or a Position. I am just merely a disciple of Christ. Being a Christian is not perfect in flesh but perfect in Christ is our goal. Romans 3:10 10As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: (KJV)

Lately I have been expressing many different testimonies and little about myself. Dudes, I believe a person who does not express about their past\present struggles and how they overcome or still struggling, then I assume this person is perfect? NOPE. Would be great to see you all share your struggles so we all learn from each other. Come on men, new and old Christians, deaf or hearing, we all have struggles. As we see Paul’s (2 Corinthians) statement he asked Lord to remove this Physical Thorn he is experiencing, but Lord says his Grace is sufficient. Wow what a verse. He is an inspiration to me to keep going when tough keeps going.

Let me share my struggle recently. Last year I learned about my issue that I did not see myself. I had issued with disrespectful judgment towards people sometime, especially my wife. One brother in Christ brought up this issue to me. I am so happy he did. If he didn’t, hey I would be typing this Blog with a big log in my eye ha (Matthew 7). Last night I was putting my wife down constantly because I was trying to repair computer and it was getting late for my son. But not knowing my wife was exhausted due to nursing our son (normal). I gave up the computer stuff took our son to bed and went sleep. This morning as driving to work, I felt a heavy load on my heart not sure why. Then sitting at the computer logging on at work, then I said Lord forgive me for putting pressure on my wife. I felt bad about that, but then my wife forgives me for this issue. I said to my self I hate this thorn, then that gave me Light Bulb for that story from Paul with his thorn.

Lord,

Forgive us for our weakness for what ever they are, but I hope we all can learn from them and have confidence to share them. This is good because we can reinforce each other and with the Spiritual Church becomes stronger. Hear our prayer Lord, and build this Deaf Band of Brothers together stronger so Satan will bounce off our Band. Amen!

Open up Men

Galatians 6:2:
2Share each other's troubles and problems, and in this way obey the law of Christ. (NLT)

Today I was reading Acts 8:26-40, this is about Philip and the Ethiopian. Click on the link to the verse:

http://bibleresources.bible.com/passagesearchresults.php?passage1=act+8%3A26-40&version1=31

Testimony:
There was once a great wonderful man who was minister of the gospel. He was known by many deaf in USA. He would be at every Deaf National Workshops. He was preacher in Northern part of USA. But then one day he stumbled across some verses and a book he thought that conflict with The Church of Christ, so he resigned as preacher, and had a bitter conflict with the local church. Actually the elders forced him to resign because he was teaching deaf something outside the bible. He also was reading and using different book. He and family moved to another state and joined this Cult. This church that he left, many deaf members were in despair. Few years later, My wife and I went to National Workshop in Ohio. There were alot of those members from broken church happen to be there. They came to me and were complaining they missed this minister. This was heart breaking because its been more than 2 years and they were still depressed?

I felt Holy Spirit compelled me to speak up. I asked one of the coordinator if I could speak during the service. I spoke about Acts 8:26-40. This is a good passage about how Ethiopian rejoice in his salvation. But noticed Philip disappeared and yet the Eunich still rejoiced. I rebuked anyone who is in despair because minister has left the church. I said that once a person has the Good News what do you do with it? Yes for time we may be depressed that leader has left, but hey, you have the bible. You have salvation, be rejoceful. Continue with deaf ministry anyway. In Time Lord will answer your call.

What lead me to this passage, because there are times we have brothers and sister leaving our family of God going to another family of God because matter of "1 little grain of sand" such as doctrinal conflicts what he\she thinks is a big thing. Have you all heard of book called "Don't sweat the small stuff"? There was a book years ago on this issue. So true. Devil loves to make a little thing blown up like dough that rises (yeast). I do have some concerns to some doctrinal issues, but hey, does that Mean I am right, ME ME ME? I leave this to the Lord. If Holy Spirit complells me to challenge with meekness I will. But I don't feel its is a big thing then I let it go! What matters, we have brothers and sisters who act like CHRIST! Thats what we need to do. I really like verse Mark brought up yeaterday Galatians 6:2. We need to be open, this is only way we can learn from those who are Matured in Christ! Let you know there will be times when your mind may not be straight for number of reasons. Maybe because of working over time, negative thoughts enter your mind, then all sudden this little "grain of sand" you thought may be a big thing because a huge conflict and this can tear family of God. This is where prayer comes into play, and meekness.

Lord,
Forgive us humans! We have many things happening in our lives today, sometime stress is a big factor in our daily schedule. Soemtime we don't make room for You. Lord you should come first in our life. Unfortuntely that sometime we put others above You and this is where Devil prowls on. Please help us Men to focus on you more. Weed out this obstacle. Open our heart to each men here DBOB. We need to Speak up. This is only way we can grow in Christ. You are an Awsome God, Amen!

Laughter is the best icebreaker

1 Timothy 2:3-4 (NIV)
This is good, and pleases God our Savior,
who wants all men to be saved and to
come to a knowledge of the truth.

Jolt our emotions for the Glory for God

Romans 1:20: From the time the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky and all that God made. They can clearly see his invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse whatsoever for not knowing God. (NLT)

This is interesting, when I read some of verses that really strike my interest. Have you ever come across verse that your heart starts racing, and many ideas come, role-play verses to someone or just keeps thinking of different scenarios in your mind for days. I come across verse Romans 1:20 which really hits my emotions. I just do not get it when people reject the idea of God and His creation. God is displaying his existence in everything - nature and people. I see the technology and travel today that makes the knowledge that God existence more wide spread. The thought comes to my mind that the world may end at any time. I read a funny clip during Society class at my high school showing news lady announcing the world will blow up 10pm, news at 11. Does this get your emotions rowdy eh?

Here is another verse that may get your emotions into gear but it certainly does with mine: Luke 3:22: and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: "You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased." Have anyone heard of commercial by EF Hutton? This commercial was run in 80’s. But they had a funny commercial shows how people reacted to voice of this guy saying “When EF Hutton speaks, people listen” then whole crowd of people run toward sound and hold their ear toward the sound and pause. This is neat, same how we ought to react when reading these verses. But I really like Luke 3:22, imagine God speaking from the clouds and we hear his gentle voice we out to give Lord our undivided attention. When I see verses I give Him my undivided attention. James 1:22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.(NIV)

Thank you Lord for giving us emotions so we can analyze what we need to do to obey you instead of just listen to preachers, message and do nothing, Amen

Wake up call for Christians

Romans 10:15 And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!" (NIV)

Resource of the day:

The Way Of The Master
"Seek and save the lost the way Jesus did"
http://www.wayofthemaster.com

People are out there evangelizing like they have never done before. I am sharing this reference site to let you know how much of inspiration this site brings me to evangelize to both hearing and deaf. Matthew 9:37 Then He said to His disciples, The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few (NASB). LivingWaters has 100 Q\A tools you can use when discussing gospel with people http://www.livingwaters.com/witnessingtool/browse.shtml. Way of the Master has their mission statement plus comments from other Christian leaders. It’s awesome. Read below I extracted from the Way of the Master’s website:

Our Mission and Statement of Faith

150,000 people die every 24 hours—most without the Savior. We are deeply concerned that so few Christians reach out to the lost. Statistics show that this is as low as 5%. One of the reasons for this is that many don’t feel equipped. As a ministry, our sole purpose is to inspire and equip Christians—to teach them how to share the gospel simply, effectively, biblically . . . the way Jesus did. “The Way of the Master” is non-denominational. We believe and preach that the Bible is the Word of God, and that Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh, crucified for the sin of the world, and that He rose again on the third day. We believe and teach that salvation is by grace, through faith, and not of works.

Comments from Christian Leaders:

"Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort present a timely and gripping series giving passion to the Church and feet to the Gospel. This is truly a 'Wake Up Call' to every Christian to come to terms with his or her mission in this world. This is very well done and wonderfully captures both the classic approach and the contemporary draw to the Reality shows…[it] maintains the integrity of the message while capturing the relevance of the application."

--Ravi Zacharias

"Thanks to Kirk and Ray for seeking to motivate believers to fulfill the Great Commission, and for staying true to the biblical message of repentance from sin and forgiveness in Christ."

--John MacArthur

"The Way of the Master is a fresh new television program that grabs your attention from the opening scene and sustains it throughout the entire program. The interviews with people on the street are a vivid revelation of the terrible need people have for the Christ of the Gospel. I was encouraged and motivated, and you will be too."

--David Jeremiah

Be in Jonah's shoes

Jonah 2:1-2
Jonah's Prayer

1 From inside the fish Jonah

prayed to the LORD his God.

2 He said: "In my distress I

called to the LORD, and he

answered me. From the

depths of the grave I called

for help, and you listened to

my cry.

You think that after a crazy ordeal you went through, think again you get a taste for more. Compare yourself with Jonah’s cartoon. Funny. The book of Jonah is interesting. Jonah struggled to fight his strong will attitude towards God as he refused to preach to this town Nineveh. How can we learn from this? Well I know for fact this has happen sometimes when a Christian is encouraged to participate in a ministry or setup ministry but then fails. Something happens in the person’s life that causes ministry to fail. Some really good ministry eventually gets Black Balled! Mark at a time he tried to add more tasks to his plate to keep the important ministries alive. Over time the ministry dissolves due to Mark nearly getting burnt out. Mark now leaves that to the Lord for now on. I don’t blame him. I had participated in few and helped to setup a few but where are they now?

Jonah tried to escape from God and during time he was in stormy sea and he was trapped. Then he finally realizes that God s calling him. God has been trying to show him he really needed him no matter what Jonah thinks of people in Nineveh. What will it take for us Men to respond to Lord's calling? We are afraid to know what ahead of us? There will be good times and hard times believe me: Psalms 46:10 "Be silent, and know that I am God!

I am reading bible, praying, and involving different ministry as much as I can. This is the mission that I have dedicated myself to. Instead I could give up my job and take my family to another country for missionary but God has molded me to be part of the Deaf Ministry for the WMA. So here I will stay. For each person the calling will be different. Mark gave his life to study and train to minister. Now he is training us. This is a rarity for this kind of ministry. There are many areas where God needs us, but we have too many obligations that conflict with God's plan. We will need to shift gears and reprioritize. It will of course, take us out of comfort zone into a rocky zone. But after period of time, we will get used to it.

Lord,

I am so amazed that you have fired us up to set this DBOB and open the eyes of our heart Lord. I know for sure you will transform us into what you want us to become for your Glory, in Jesus’ Name Amen.
